This is my office, Mozart’s. Three levels of sunshine and outdoors…
And level indoors (and dog friendly… say hello to Bradley who is there more often than I am)
And the view of Abel’s on the Lake (and Lady Bird Lake herself) from the deck.
On Thursdays, I do the same thing… I go in and find a table near an outlet so I can plug in (as you can imagine, this is prime real estate. Thankfully, most folks are good about letting you snake a cord around them and so am I). Most times, I can get the table near the door, the one just underneath the framed picture on the right.
I get a sausage empanada, a latte and I sit and look out at the view for 25 minutes or so or socialize if other writers join me.
I set my pomodoro timer and I write. It’s from this place that Allazar comes alive; Phe was driven to near madness by sentient mental affective orchids, Micah is in the middle of a domestic melodrama and the skaizo have changed forms again and again.
From here.
If you find yourself in Austin on a Thursday morning and want to talk and write, find the dark girl in dreads near the door… I promise the view is terrific!
